I thought I’d do a ‘first impressions’ type post on these bits I picked up from Essence Cosmetics. I wasn’t expecting too much, considering I spent a total of €7.49 but I’m actually pretty happy! Here I am, wearing what … Continue reading
I had heard people raving about the Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer (that’s a bit of a mouthful), but I had never actually tried it before. With it’s promise to conceal flaws, imperfections and blemishes, for up to 16 hours – and a 6 euro price point – I had to give it a go!
It is AMAZING! If you’ve read previous posts of mine you’ll know I like a full coverage concealer for under my eyes! I have never found a “drugstore” concealer that does that for me … Until now!
Note: I haven’t used it to cover up any spots or blemishes like that, because I generally don’t like to put makeup on them! They seem to last longer for me if I cover them up! All I can comment on is how well it works for the eyes!
The Good Things:
- COVERAGE: It has a thick and creamy consistency and it blends really well. You can also apply a second layer for a flawless finish. (BTW: I always apply concealer AFTER everything else, I don’t know if this makes a difference to the end result)
- NO CREASES OR ‘CAKEY-NESS’: It doesn’t cake or accentuate fine lines – which usually happens immediately with other concealers I use.
- LONG WEARING: I don’t know about the 16 hours of perfection, but I do know that I put my makeup on one morning and wore the same makeup out that night – and, you know, I looked OK! Haha
Below, I have used that scar on my arm as an example again. I’m using the shade ‘3 Medium Warm’. As you can see it blends beautifully, the coverage is really great too.
This is a comparison with Benefit’s Boi-ing Concealer which is FOUR TIMES the price of the Lasting Perfection. Boi-ing is a perfect example of a concealer that (for me) doesn’t blend well, gets stuck in creases and cakes. It didn’t photograph too well, but if you look closely you can really see it in the lines of the skin on my arm.
The ONE Bad Thing:
This is kind of a weird one, but it’s the packaging! The ink comes off the tube on your hands! I’ve ended up with big black smudges and for ages I didn’t know where it was coming from. So be careful! You might want to use nail polish remover or something to strip the ink off the tube.
So, that’s it for my review. If you’re in the market for a new concealer – go out and get this one! I absolutely love it – definitely my new favourite!

I think the last time I did a “favourites” post was 2012! I thought I’d make up for that by doing this 2013 beauty favourites for the year! These are basically the products that stuck with me for the whole … Continue reading
