REVIEW: L’Oreal True Match Foundation

L'Oreal True Match Review

I think the last foundation review I did was this one: L’Oreal True Match Mineral Foundation.  Before that, I was in love with the L’Oreal Nude Magique BB (do you remember? I never shut up about it!)  I guess it’s safe to say I have come to love L’Oreal foundations – well some of them at least!  Anyway, my new fave is L’Oreal True Match Liquid Foundation!

Fun fact, when I did that review for the Mineral Foundation, I had mentioned how I always had to set liquid foundation with a powder or I’d be super shiny.  That isn’t the case with this one!  It isn’t matte or a powder finish or anything it just seems to MATCH your skin!  (Almost like it does what it says it does!)

I say: It’s a super blendable liquid foundation that matches AMAZINGLY to your own skin, so it looks really natural and you look like a slightly better version of yourself.

Conveniently, I’m super hormonal at present so I’m getting those delightful cheek spots!  So, this is a good way to show you what I mean with the whole ‘slightly better version’.  This doesn’t cover up everything.  I have a before and after for you, using no concealers or anything else except one layer of the foundation:

Before and After

L’Oreal say: “It contains 3 new shade enhancers for shade matching precision. Skin perfecting pigments and the ultra gliding creamy texture give a homogeneous finish. Even better colour matching, and more luminous and radiant skin than before. Even longer wear and better comfort. All you see is your skin at it’s best.”

[Is anyone else laughing about the ‘homogeneous’ finish?]

Oh, and there’s LOTS of shades:

Great Match:  It genuinely matches fabulously to my skin in every way – tone, texture and colour.  I don’t require a huge amount of coverage, not because I’m so perfect and have nothing to hide haha, just because all I want day-to-day is for my skin to look more even.  Generally, makeup does slide off my face during the day but I am not one to EVER re-apply makeup (aintnobodygottimefothat) so this is perfect for me because you can’t really tell!  The match is so good from this foundation that it doesn’t even look patchy!  (mom makeup)

Here’s another before and after:

I use 4N – which I feel is a perfect match for me.  If I’ve been in the sun or wear tan it can be a little light.  So you could possibly need two different shades if you live a tan life and a not so tan life!  Here’s a photo showing a before and after and a shmear of makeup in between! (Jokes aside, notice how it covers redness on my chin and pigmentation on my cheek) :

Buildable: If you do want more coverage, you can build this foundation without it looking cakey.  Having said that, if full coverage is your end-game, this isn’t for you!

Great Price Point:  This retails at €14.99 which is much more like what I want to be paying for drugstore brand makeup.  The Mineral version was €22.99 – which I happily paid because I knew it was amazing but I wouldn’t be paying that for this liquid foundation, y’know?

There you have it, my two cents’ worth!  If you have normal or oily/combination skin and are looking for a new foundation, this one is worth a try!

Thanks for reading! 😉
