I was lucky enough to have been given the chance to trial and review some products from Fuschia Makeup. I was blown away with the quality of the products, and overall I am just SO impressed with this brand!
What I’m going to do today is talk about all of the products I’ve been using and then over the next few weeks I’ll put up a few different posts showing you the different looks I’ve created with the products!
“Make-Your-Own”(MYO) Five Pan Palette (€40)
I love these MYO palettes! These shadows are absolutely gorgeous, they’re blendable, they have longevity and are so amazingly pigmented!
Just a little warning here, I’ve been a long time lover of the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, and I am going to be drawing some serious comparisons between the two brands! First of all, Naked 2 retails at €44, but I hit pan on my favourite shadows long ago and if I were to build my own five pan palette from Urban Decay, I’d be spending over €100! So, at €40 for the five pan from Fuschia, I’m getting pretty fantastic value! Especially considering I’m happier with the performance of the Fuschia shadows than the Urban Decay ones! (I feel like a traitor!)
I rambled….here are the colours in my palette:
#48: This is the perfect matte base shadow. For me, it’s a skin tone shade, and perfect for covering any redness on the lids or just to use for blending the other shadows in. This is very similar to Foxy from the Naked 2.
#CM18 Christy – Another nude shade that will work for everyone, this is just THE most gorgeous champagne sparkle colour! Perfect for highlighting the inner corners of the eye and the brow bone or to add shimmer to the lid. Again very similar to Bootycall from Naked 2, which you can’t actually purchase separately!
#17 Lara – This is a matte Taupe shade. It’s super gorgeous and flattering for ANY eye, also perfect for adding some definition and very wearable for a daytime look! Again, similar to Tease in the Naked 2
#18 Lucy – This is a matte Dark Brown with a tiny hint of shimmer. Exactly what I’m looking for for a smokey eye, as I find black to be a little harsh sometimes. It is SO pigmented, which I absolutely love, and also blendable and buildable! Autumn 2014 will see lots of browns so this is a perfect colour for this season.
#108 Jane – This is a beautiful matte Mauve – again with hint of shimmer, but this time it’s a blue/purple sparkle – which I think is so beautiful! I’m loving this shade as it really brings out the green in my eyes! Again, top marks for pigment and ‘blendability’!
Loose Mineral Eye Dust in ‘Bliss’ (€12.95)
This is SO lovelyl! It’s a metallic nude – metallic hues are another trend for Autumn/Fall 2014 – and this one is incredibly wearable! I can see this becoming a firm favourite of mine!
Brow Kit in Taupe (€15.50)
I love the packaging of this kit! It’s a compact with a little mirror and brush underneath – ‘cute’ is the only word! The matte powder allows for perfect shaping and defining of the brows, while the wax allows you to set the look in place. It’s amazing, I love it, I don’t know what else to say! There’s a reason this is a best seller!
I am not a big lipstick wearer, I’m much more of a gloss girl! But when I was trying these products out I received so many compliments – I think I may be a convert!
Lipstick – “Vamp” (€13.50)
I put a picture of myself wearing this on Instagram, it’s a perfect berry/plum colour. The name “Vamp” says it all, but with an understated eye I feel it’s very wearable during the day as well as completing a more sultry look for the evening.
Lip Pencil in Eggplant (€12.95)
This is a perfect compliment to the Vamp lipstick. It’s long wearing and creates, again, a gorgeous berry/plum lip. This pencil is super creamy and doesn’t drag on the lip at all!
Lip Lacquers – “Love Affair” and “Party Girl” (€16.50 Full Size)
These are AMAZING! They are so pigmented and feel super moisturising. These are basically a combination of lipstick and lipgloss together. ‘Love Affair’ is perfect for wearing any time and ‘Party Girl’ is SO fun – if you’re more adventurous than me, wear it any time!
Mini Highlighter Candle Glow (€25 Full Size)
This reminds me Benefit’s Girl Meets Pearl, which is the highlighter I use most of the time. It’s much wetter as it applies though, which makes it easier to use and it gives a fantastic glow. It dries really quickly too and doesn’t cake or stick to dry patches! Loving this one – I have a new favourite!
Mini Face Primer (€22 Full Size)
This is one of Fushia’s best sellers, and I can see why! I’ve never had great experiences with Primers. In fact, they’ve always seemed for have the complete opposite effect that they are supposed to.
After applying this primer my foundation immediately looked better than it normally does. Also, my foundation stayed in place all day, even around my nose and on my chin! It also has tiny little sparkley flecks through it that give you a beautiful glow!
Needless to say, as you can tell from my review, I am LOVING this brand! As I said, over the next few weeks I will feature some looks on the blog using these products. If you’re interested in any of the products I’ve mentioned, you can check them out here!
