Review: Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream

Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream is another great moisturiser that I discovered on my quest for the perfect product for hyperpigmented skin.  Now, I have to admit, when I read the word “luminous” on a skincare product, it is with great trepidation as “luminous” usually translates to “oily” for my skin type!  That is not the case with this cream though – it is completely non-greasy!

Olay Regenerist Luminous

What It Does:

  • Regenerates skin’s appearance to help recapture healthy-looking youthful luminosity
  • Reduces appearance of dark spots over time (8 weeks)
  • Hydrates, Exfoliates and Smoothes
  • Fast-absorbing and Non-greasy

What I Thought:

When I first opened the jar, I have to say I thought I’d been all wrong – it looked so rich and luxurious!  However, I was SO pleasantly surprised by the result!

The cream feels rich on your fingers, but once you apply it to the face it feels more like a primer than a cream!  It moisturises dry patches, but it seems to have an overall mattifying and instant smoothing effect.  It doesn’t give me that greasy shine that I fear, and it works so well under makeup.  My skin looks shinier before using the cream!  (See photos below)

I was originally searching for something to deal with sun damage, but the benefits to my overall skin tone were a lovely surprise.  This cream definitely gave me smoother skin, and especially considering I don’t like wearing too much foundation during the summer, it’s really nice to feel better about my skin!

In terms of improving the overall look of your skin tone, including dark spots and sun damage, I say stick with it for the suggested eight weeks and you’ll see the results you’re looking for!  It’s a winner!
