July Favourites

I haven’t done a ‘favourites’ post since the beginning of this year, but this month there were A LOT of products I liked!  I’ve been introduced to some new products this month, and some are old favourites, but I have been loving them all – so this has to be done!

HAIR

Lee Stafford HAiR GRowTH TREaTMENT

Lee Stafford

This is a product that I had been using for AGES, and then stopped.  I stopped because my hair ended up getting very dry (because I wasn’t using it correctly), but this stuff is SO GREAT!  I reviewed it here.  I really do believe it works, I’ve seen such growth in my hair since I started using it, and this month I’ve fallen in love with it all over again!  If you are trying to get your hair to grow and it seems like it’s just not going to happen, you need to try this stuff!

John Frieda Full Repair Heat Activated Styling Spray

John Frieda Full Repair

I almost didn’t give this product the chance it deserved!  See, I originally bought this as a replacement for my TreSEMMÉ Heat Defence spray (silly me, that could never be replaced).  I thought it would be a good heat protection spray to use – but what I discovered was SO much better.

This stuff works so, so well with hot tools – hence the ‘heat activated’ part – and it works the absolute best for curls!  This helps create amazing curls, while protecting from the heat AND they stay in place for so, so long!  You don’t end up with crunchy curls, they look really natural and they’ll smell pretty good too!

SKINCARE

This month I was introduced to Nimue Skin Technology for the first time.  I’ve been using the starter kit for Hyperpigmented skin and I am so impressed with it. (You can read my post about it here)  However, two products from the range are absolutely AMAZING and aren’t even specific to hyperpigmentation – so they’re worth sharing with you!

Nimue Exfoliating Enzyme

Nimue Enzyme

This is a delight to use, I seriously look forward to the days when I get to use it.  This is a gel exfoliator and the enzymes ‘digest’ the dead skin so it’s not abrasive or harsh on the skin at all!  My skin just feels amazing immediately after using it, I look so glowy and my skin is so smooth!  I’m also no longer afraid to pop down to Tesco with a bare face – haha!

Nimue SPF 40

Nimue Sun C SPF

I have been SEARCHING for this product.  Granted I didn’t know it would turn out to be Nimue, but I was desperate to find a sunscreen for my face with high protection and that didn’t make me look extremely greasy!  I have combination skin, and I feel like it just turns into OILY skin when I use sunscreen, so I’m delighted with this!  Also, in your 20s and 30s sunscreen is one of the BEST things you can use to combat ageing – so this one is RECOMMENDED!

MAKEUP

Maxfactor 2000 Calorie Mascara

2000 Calorie Mascara

I’m so late to the game with this one, but I was actually shocked at how happy I was when I started using this mascara.  I had actually been using two mascaras at the same time before – one for the top lashes, and a waterproof for the bottom lashes – but this one is smudge resistant!  It’s also got a really great wand/brush which  literally gives me lashes I didn’t know were there!  If you haven’t used this already, you need it in your life!

L’Oreal Nude Magique BB cream for Light Skin

L'Oreal Nude Magique BB

This is one of those “old favourites” I was talking about!  I hate wearing foundation in the summertime – at least, not for an everyday look!  I use a BB cream every summer, and usually come right back to this Nude Magique.  This particular shade is pretty much the exact same as my skin tone too, so even if it does become patchy – it’s extremely difficult to tell!  I think it really just makes my skin look like my skin, just a little bit better – and my skin can still breathe!

NAILS

Rimmel 60 Seconds  & Essence Colour & Go

Nails

These are definitely my ‘summer’ colours this year.  The Rimmel is in ‘Instyle Coral’ and it’s such a pretty pink.  I think coral pinks can be worn by anyone and they’ll look great.  The Essence is ‘Wanna Be Your Sunshine’, I did a blog post about this too.  I was surprised by how much I liked it – it’s SO summery!

BODY

PIXY Softening Body Oil

Pixy Softening Body Oil

I really got on board with the whole “body oil” thing this month, which is bizarre because it’s been very hot here and I honestly would have related body oils to winter rather than summer, but it’s actually worked out quite well!

I’ve fallen in love with PIXY this month, but this Body Oil has such a lovely ‘spa like’ scent with it’s Jojoba and Apricot oils! It absorbs so easily and doesn’t leave me feeling sticky or greasy in the warm weather!  I use this on my arms and legs and I think it’s great to combat that dry skin that can come from a day in the sun!

PIXY Lime Body Scrub Cubes

Pixy Lime Scrub

I seriously adore these (as you can tell from the empty packet).  They are jam packed full of essential oils – and I’m pretty sure they have baking soda in the middle too.  The essential oils make it glide on to the skin so it’s not abrasive or gritty at all!  My mother in law also tried these out and she’s decided she’s buying them every month now!

I didn’t want to go overboard with the favourites here, and it was REALLY hard to narrow it down – it’s been a good month for beauty!  I hope you enjoyed this post, and you might spot something you want to try!  Let me know if you do!

Thanks so much for reading! x
