A few weeks ago I picked up this Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray. As you can probably tell, I’m not a fan of ‘perfect’ looking hair, it just doesn’t work for my hair type. As it’s coming in to summer now, and I always hear people raving about these sprays so I got the travel size to try it out!
About the Product:
Creates texture and body with a light hold, suitable for ALL hair types and perfect for achieving a lived in ‘beachy’ look!
What I Did:
I applied it to DRY hair. (You can use on wet or dry)
I sprayed it into the lower section of my hair, twisted then scrunched.
Then I let it dry naturally!
What I Thought:
Ok, so in the photos it doesn’t look THAT different. But how it smells and feels…is a different story!
THE LOOK: While my hair was still damp from the spray it definitely looked beachy – in that it looked wet! After it dried, I looked EXACTLY like I would if I had gone to the beach – and that’s not good. I was a frizzy mess! I would get the exact same result by wetting the ends of my hair and driving with my windows down. I don’t know if it’s just me, but despite saying it’s for all hair types, I don’t think this product is intended for people with dry/frizzy hair!
THE SMELL: WOW! It’s way too strong for my liking. It’s weird because I’m quite a fan of other Toni&Guy products, but I literally ended up with a headache after using this product.
THE FEEL: For me, the hold was not ‘light’, there was zero ‘movement’. The residue is disgusting! It was as if I put syrup in my hair! It’s sticky, you can’t brush it out, and it looks dull and matted after a while.
I have seen some great reviews of this product, but it’s generally people with finer, straight hair that seem to love it! However, next time I decide I want beachy hair, I’ll go to the beach!
