Monthly Favourites: January 2014

It’s monthly favourites time!  If you’ve done one of these, please link in the comments! I seriously think it’s got to the stage where everything I buy is because a blogger recommended it!  Whether it’s baby, beauty or otherwise!!

I’ll start with favourite skin care item, and it has to be the L’Oreal Skin Perfection Advanced Correcting Serum.

I’ve used this all month and it’s actually really good!  It gives skin a smoother texture, evens skin tone, and refines pores!  You can read my review of this product here – and see how well it actually works!!

Ok, on to makeup and I have another L’Oreal product and two from Soap and Glory!

L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Cream

This BB cream is the best I’ve used yet.  What I love about a BB is that it just makes you look like you, but better.  A little less dull, a little more even!  This product is marketed as a Bare Skin Beautifier – which is exactly what I look for in a day to day makeup.  I really hate the feeling of heavy makeup on my skin – especially during the day.  So, this product is no good if you need something with a high coverage.  Having said that, it’s buildable so I just put a little extra under the eyes and skip concealer!  There’s no real need for powder as it’s non greasy and doesn’t give you that awful shine!!  It’s also an extremely fun product (haha!) because, as you can see in the top right corner, when it comes out of the tube it’s white with purple and grey ‘pigment capsules’.  Once you blend the product it turns into a skin colour.  Fancy! 😉

Soap & Glory: Thick & Full Mascara

I have been loving this product this month!  I’ve been reaching for this over my usual favourite day after day.  It’s nothing drastic, it’s just a really great mascara for a day to day look.  You can see in the photo above what one coat can do – it thickens and lengthens!  It also washes off super easy so that’s a plus!  You can read my full review of the Soap&Glory products I mention in this post here!

Soap and Glory Glow All Out

As you can see it’s been used well over the last month.  This is another one from the gift set I review last month, and after a few trials – I am in love!  It’s so pretty, and you just end up looking so “glowy”!  Plus, my lovely husband says ‘You look pretty’ when I wear it — it has to be down this product haha!

Now, onto Hair Care!  I started using this L’Oreal Elvive Full Restore 5 Extreme Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner at the start of January.

Designed for very dry and damaged hair, this seemed perfect for me!  Now, I know shampoo and conditioner can’t bring dead hair back to life but the promises this made couldn’t be ignored!  It claims to seal split ends, restore your hair, give you root to tip softness etc.  So, yes I’ve been using it all month and it really does make your hair look and feel better – only issue is that it gets greasy SUPER quick!

Non Beauty Favourites!

My LaBelleMama Mug that my lovely husband got for me!

It was such a sweet gesture and really meant so much to me – so I use it ALL the time now haha!

Pretty Little Liars

January saw the return of my favourite TV show – Pretty Little Liars!  Haha  I’m not even ashamed to say it … This show is soooo good!  I’m obsessed!

QuizUp

I was introduced to QuizUp by my brother-in-law.  I literally never play games on my iPhone, but I tried it on his phone and then I downloaded it!  It’s very addictive haha and I’ve been playing it all month!  Download with caution 😉

Well that’s it for January’s favourites.  Thanks for reading!!
